DO YOU LIVE IN ( or around) CHICAGO???

Duchess is a tall, playful, athletic, fast, and well-trained, six-year-old, 65-pound, female, Chocolate Lab-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Duchess is perfectly housebroken, crate-trained, and knows the commands sit, down, paw, and takes treats nicely from your fingers. Duchess gets along with other dogs, cats and even cockatiels. She is currently living in a foster home with two other dogs with whom she gets along beautifully.

Duchess is a very intelligent dog who – if given an inch – will take a mile. So, she needs to find a dog-lover, who is also a strong leader, to continue to train her, exercise her, and give her guidance. She loves to play fetch and grew up in a suburban setting with a fenced-in yard. She is currently living in a city condo where she has adapted well to elevators, walking on leash, and city sounds.

Duchess is snugly and affectionate, gives kisses and lets you trim her nails. However, she has been known to be food-aggressive. Duchess was given up by a family when she bit a nine-year-old child over an incident with food. So, even though she has lived with children since puppyhood, she would do best in an all-adult active household where her boundaries and training will be more strictly reinforced.

Duchess is extremely healthy, spayed, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm-tested. To meet and possibly adopt her, please contact Melissa at MD0822@gmail.com or 815-592-9013. Her adoption fee of $100 benefits rescued dogs.
