View the world through the eyes of Hudson. His objective of this blog is to educate the public by trying to teach them not to buy a dog through a puppy mill. Don't buy a dog before you see where his parents live and how they are treated. Better yet ADOPT through a rescue or shelter and know you've done a good deed by saving a dog's life !!!

Legislative Alert:
Companion Animal and Consumer Protection Ordinance
.
Please join City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza, The Puppy Mill Project, and a growing coalition of Chicago aldermen to help pass an ordinance to promote animal adoption, end the sale of puppy mill dogs in Chicago, and protect our citizens!
This week has been a great one for the city of Chicago, animal lovers, and puppy mill dogs! On Wednesday the Chicago City Clerk introduced an ordinance into the Chicago City Council to promote animal adoptions and end the sale of puppy and kitten mill dogs and cats in Chicago. We are honored to have worked with Clerk Mendoza on this initiative.
The Companion Animal and Consumer Protection ordinance limits the retail sale of dogs and cats from pet stores to animals sourced from government-run shelters (such as Chicago Animal Care and Control) and nonprofit rescue organizations or humane societies.
The ordinance has received unprecedented support with 47 of 50 Chicago aldermen pledging their support. While this is a fantastic start, we need your help to keep the momentum going.
We will keep you posted on how you can help in the coming days. In the meantime, you can support the ordinance by doing the following:
Sign the Petition. Go to http://chn.ge/1c3I9eU and sign Clerk Mendoza's petition on Change.org. Everyone should sign, even if you do not live in Chicago. In just a few days, they have reached nearly 5,000 signatures! Let's keep it going!
Get the Facts about the Ordinance. Clerk Mendoza's Office has set up an informative website where you can learn more about the ordinance and what it means for Chicago tax payers, consumers, and homeless pets:
