Steve Stenger Is All About The Animals.....Thank God He Was Voted In .....

A message from Bonnie to St. Louis County Animal Advocates

19:58 22 October in Volunteers

Hello Compassionate Voters!  Please read and share!

Two short weeks from today, Tuesday November 4th, you will have the opportunity to improve the lives of  people AND animals in St. Louis County by electing Steve Stenger as County Executive.
Steve understands that compassion has a ripple effect throughout our community and will make it a real priority in his administration. Stanger_DWP©13-2181He and his wife Allison (who volunteers with the Dent County Animal Welfare Society) are fully committed to companion animal rescue.
While serving on the St. Louis County Council, Steve became increasingly aware of persistent problems with St. Louis County Animal Control by listening to the concerns of citizens.  Steve has worked closely with members of the rescue community to develop a plan to fully utilize the County Animal Shelter and lower its unacceptably high euthanasia rate.
Steve’s main opponent on the other hand, Rick Stream, has a disturbing record of voting AGAINST the humane treatment of animals, contrary to the values of the voters in his own district (and St. Louis County as a whole).
  • Rick Stream supported the so called “Right to Farm” amendment-Steve Stenger helped us fight it!  This dangerous measure threatens to overturn protections for puppy mill dogswhich the vast majority of the people in Stream’s district voted for in 2010.  It also facilitates more foreign ownership of Missouri farmland, and is currently in litigation over deceptive ballot language.
  • Rick Stream voted to weaken animal neglect laws.  Stream voted to change the law so that a person is only guilty of animal neglect if it results in “substantial harm to the animal”.  In other words, knowingly failing to provide adequate food, water shelter etc. is only a crime if the animal is seriously harmed or dies.  Governor Nixon vetoed this bill and Stream voted to override the veto.
  • Rick Stream voted for “Ag-Gag” legislation to criminalize whistle blowers.  While polls show that over 92% of us believe we should treat animals raised for food etc. humanely, Rick Stream voted to criminalize people who document and expose animal cruelty in Missouri.
Rick Stream has repeatedly betrayed the voters of his district and Missouri’s animals.  He does not represent the values of the people in St. Louis County.
Animals can’t vote, but YOU can.  Vote for Steve Stenger, St. Louis County Executive on Tuesday November 4th!
Thanks for all that you do!
Bonnie
