I still don't understand how people in this day and age who buy their pets at a Pet Store where I've always been super conservative in saying that 90% of dogs sold in them are coming from Puppy Mills. In reality it is closer to 99% of the dogs are coming from Puppy Mills.
Why doesn't the average family go to their local shelters or rescues where there are so many loving, extremely adoptable dogs waiting desperately for their forever families.
8 Millions dogs end up in shelters yearly and over 4 million of them will be put to sleep in them because not enough people are adopting at shelters.
25% of dogs in shelters are PUREBREDS
You can also go to PetFinders and look for your next pets where all the dogs listed are from rescues.
So many incredible dogs just waiting for you to notice them ....won't you check out my fellow canines at the nearest shelter to you ???
No reputable breeder who genuinely cares about her dogs will sell to a PET STORE !!!
So head on over to your nearest shelter or rescue to adopt a bundle of joy !!!

I do think people are getting smarter about where to get their dogs. Our local shelter adoption is up and the two pet stores that sold puppies have stopped.
