National PuppyMill Project Wants to Unite All Animal Advocates Together !!!

Let's End Puppy Mills, Together!
We love the work you're doing to end puppy mills!  We can do even more, together. ~ Cari Meyers
Dear Hudson's Viewers,
Do you envision a world where dogs aren't confined to inhumane spaces and forced to breed repeatedly until their feeble bodies give out?  A world where puppies aren't treated like products?  A world where puppy mills do not exist?

You're not alone.  There are many others, like you, who have been working tirelessly to end cruel puppy breeding and retailing practices.   We may deploy different tactics, but we are all trying to accomplish the same thing.

Some real progress has been made.  There have been modest yet promising shifts in consumer behavior, including greater public awareness and pressure on millers and pet stores to practice humane business models.

Yet, despite all this work, commercial puppy breeding still thrives.

And it's a multi-billion dollar industry.  As we speak, hundreds of thousands of breeding dogs suffer in puppy mills across America.  Puppy mill owners are many and their lobbyists are powerful.  Change will be difficult.

What if we all worked together and helped each other, rather than acting separately, duplicating efforts and competing for scarce resources?

Just imagine if we all connected, worked collaboratively and organized for collective power.  Imagine how much stronger we could be, together.

That's why we're beyond excited to tell you about National Puppy Mill Project (NPMP), a national nonprofit coalition formed to connect, inspire and unite those of us with a common mission to end the cruelty.

In October 2010, over 100 animal welfare advocates from nonprofits across the country convened in Chicago to discuss ways to collaborate, share resources and put an end to puppy mills.

We realized a need to connect and learn from each other on an ongoing basis.  A vision of a national coalition was born.

Today, several years after that initial conference, we can say the vision is real.

We'd love for you to become a charter member of NPMP and help shape the direction of this national coalition.  The benefits are many:

  • Connect with others fighting to stop puppy mills and learn from each other on an ongoing basis
  • Access resources and information to help your organization be even more effective
  • Make the cause accessible to more people and help them better understand its connection to them
  • Work outside your core group of true believers and put greater emphasis on mobilizing those less engaged
  • Be a stronger advocate for legislation that will have the most impact to eliminate inhumane and outdated care standards, and give dogs the protections they deserve.
  • Join forces to form a strong united voice that is a catalyst for real change

To join us, please visit, and complete our member application.  Membership is only $100, which will be used to support the organization.

Our website provides members the means to connect, share ideas and best practices, join on-line discussions, participate in monthly webinars, access resources, and stay up to date on what's being accomplished.

Together, we can be stronger.  We can harness the collective capability of all who are already working to end puppy mills and accelerate achievement of our shared vision.

Let's end puppy mills, together.

We'd love for you to join us!  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  ~ Cari & Betty
