National Mill Dog Rescue.....

Dear National Mill Dog Rescue Supporters,

Good news! Members of United States Congress reintroduced legislation, the PUPS (Puppy Uniform Protection and Safety) Act, that will establish federal oversight of the sale of dogs on the Internet.  We need your help to pass this federal law.  Its easy.

The law will close the loop hole in the Animal Welfare Act that allows puppies to be sold on the internetwithout the seller needing licensing or inspection. The PUPS Act will require commercial breeding facilities that sell over 50 dogs per year be licensed and inspected by the USDA. Dogs will also be required to have 60 minutes of exercise outside of their cages per day.

Please contact Senator Bennet and let him know that the welfare of dogs is important to you.  Mark Udall has already agreed to co-sign the bill. Below are 2 sample messages that can be use on the phone or pasted in an email.

Thank you for helping dogs in Colorado and in puppy mills all over the United States.
Together we can make a change for the better!

Dear Senator,

You sponsored the Pups Act in the past and I am writing to you to ask that you sponsor it again. It will close the loop hole in the Animal Welfare Act that allows the sale of puppies on the Internet without the seller needing licensing or inspection. The puppy mills that the puppies come from are cruel and inhumane. The breeding dogs never leave the wire cages that they are confined in and puppies that are produced have congenital illnesses and numerous infections. Animal issues are very important to to the people of Colorado. We love dogs and want them treated humanly!

Dear Senator,

Please co-sponsor the PUPS Act again. It will help thousands of dogs living in substandard and inhumane conditions in puppy mills. Animal Rights issues are important to the people of Colorado. We love dogs and want them treated humanely!
