Only Need $70.00 More Dollars

I've worked with Alanna in the past and always admired how she follows through on all the rescues she works on. Alanna has offered the update below on Patsy, the beagle hit by a car. She is very close to reaching the goal for Patsy's surgery. Whether you donate or not, at least take the time to read the entire post. If all people (including myself) had half the selflessness and caring that Alann has it would be a wonderful world. Patsy went into surgery and is doing wonderfully. She is expected to make a full recovery. Everyone at the vet's office commented on how awesome of a dog she was. As far as funding goes, we have raised $380.00 of the $450.00 needed to cover her surgery. Thank you for your help!

WE NEED HELP TO END PATSY'S SUFFERING!

REMEMBER THE ICE STORMS A FEW WEEKS BACK?

This precious Chocolate Beagle needs our help, now! PICTURES BELOW

Patsy was hit by a car during the ice storm, by a police officer's mother none-the-less, and brought to a pound where she languished ALONE IN PAIN for a week. She received no medical attention. The pound had no power and no heat. There lay Patsy-- on a cold, wet cement floor- in excruciating pain.

Alanna Downey, who lives in East Prairie, MO (a wonderful Good Samaritan and Independent Rescuer) saw this poor girl and knew she had to do something. She snatched Patsy from that pound and raced her to the vet- knowing that she would be incurring a huge vet bill- but simply couldn't allow Patsy to lie there and suffer one minute longer.
X-rays were taken and it was discovered that Patsy has a severely dislocated rear leg (hip socket area). She is also HW positive.

Alanna took her home and has been caring for her until we can raise the funds needed for surgery. Patsy has been confined to a crate for the most part to limit her mobility and is getting restless. She is on pain meds to keep her comfortable.

Veterinarian's Diagnosis: Dislocated Left Rear Leg. The leg was out of socket too long to be placed back in. Patsy now requires a Femoral Head Surgery. She also has severe heartworms and needs to be spayed as well.
So, not counting the money already spent, here is an approx. breakdown of what is needed and the cost:
-Femoral Head Surgery: $450.00 (this includes the 10 day stay at the vet's office following surgery.)
-Spay: $55.00 (Which they will probably do when performing the Femoral Head Surgery.)
-A second heartworm shot + meds: $117.50
Total: $622.50

ABOUT PATSY:
Patsy weighs approx. 21 pounds and is approx. 6 years old. She looks to be a Chocolate Beagle - with a beautiful Lemon Beagle head and face. (is that possible?) Great with other dogs and ignores cats. She loves to collect toys and neatly store them in a dog bed, it's the cutest thing. She is becoming quite antsy with being kept in a crate for so many hours. This surgery will give her her mobility back. She craves attention. I take her out 2-3 times a day to use the bathroom and to give her a slight change of pace. She will make someone a fantastic dog. Once Patsy has had her surgery and is healthy-- we will find a reputable rescue group to take her in. She has been through so much and really deserves a chance at a fresh start!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CARING and FOR YOUR HELP!!
