View the world through the eyes of Hudson. His objective of this blog is to educate the public by trying to teach them not to buy a dog through a puppy mill. Don't buy a dog before you see where his parents live and how they are treated. Better yet ADOPT through a rescue or shelter and know you've done a good deed by saving a dog's life !!!

2015 Spring Update and Grant Recipients
Posted April 6, 2015 at 3:12 pm
We are thrilled to update our supporters with some of the recent happenings around Athletes for Animals!
Over the past few months we have been able to collaborate with some incredible organizations in the St. Louis area to expand our reach on behalf of the animals. In February, we partnered with the Humane Society of Missouri and announced the Spay It Forward campaign. Our goal is to raise $250,000 for 2,500 low and no-cost spay/neuter surgeries in 2015 and we hope you will join us in this effort of preventing tens of thousands of unwanted, homeless pets! Be sure to follow this direct link to join our team and help bring in the funding for this vital community service.
In March, we partnered with Marshall the Miracle Dog and their Commit to be Kind weekend. The movie was released for a sneak peak across Missouri to further support the anti-bullying message and spread awareness about animal hoarding. Athlete Ambassador Kyle McClellan attended the screening and signed autographs with Marshall for fans in attendance. We also were able to team up with one of NHL’s all-time greats, goaltender Marty Brodeur, to promote the importance of pet adoption at The APA of MO. Together with his family, they toured the facility and met some great adoptable dogs and cats.
Just this month, Whole Foods Town & Country selected us as their One Dime at a Time recipient. This partnership gives shoppers 10 cents (per bag) who re-use their own shopping bags, the choice to donate their dimes to charity at check out. During April, May and June, 100% of the proceeds collected will be donated to Athletes for Animals. Please remember you are not only helping the animals, but you’re reducing the impact on the environment.
Our grant funding will further support spay/neuter, vaccinations and TNR efforts, vouchers and microchipping for community pet days, extraordinary vet and emergency medical expenses, adoption and humane education services, S/N mobile clinics, the Pets for Life program, rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of special needs animals as well as programs focused on the retention of animals and keeping them in their homes.
With your continued support, we are able to improve the lives of companion animals by teaming up with athletes who allow us to use their platforms and voices. Together, we are Teaming Up for our Greatest Fans!
