HB 479 WOULD GUT THE STATE'S IMPORTANT MISSOURI SUNSHINE LAW
Yet again, lobbyists for large factory farms, captive hunting operations and puppy mills are pushing lawmakers to pass a bill that would hurt the environment and animals. Even if you have already spoken o'ut on this issue, please call your legislator right away!
HB 479 would gut the state's important Missouri Sunshine Law, which ensures that residents, reporters and charities have access to important public records. This new bill would make it illegal for state agencies to share many documents detailing violations of animal welfare or environmental regulations. Missouri cannot give animal abusers another law to hide behind!
Please make a brief, polite phone call today to Rep. John Wiemann (573) 751-2176 and urge opposition to HB 479. You can say, "I am a constituent concerned about puppy mills and factory farms, and I am calling to ask you to vote NO on HB 479."
