101 Rescued Dogs From The Human Society Puppy Mill Response Team ...

In six months, I've been involved with six puppy mill rescues.
This time our Animal Rescue Team was deployed to a property in Tennessee after receiving a call for help from local authorities. Here are just a few of the 101 rescued faces from Sunday's operation.
When I first saw the dogs, what struck me most was the horrible condition of their skin. Nearly each dog is suffering from mange. If you can imagine having an intense, raw, inflamed, and unstoppable itch -- magnified by the unforgiving, sweltering heat and humidity -- then you might know a fragment of what these dogs have been going through.
We put together a small Facebook album from the rescue to show you what's been happening (you do not need a Facebook account to view it). Also, did you know about our puppy mill tip line and online reporting form? If you suspect a puppy mill in your area, please let us know. We get about 100 calls to our tip line every month and we take each one seriously.
Right now we're at the temporary shelter, working to get each animal the care he or she needs. We're only able to save these sweet, little lives and so many more because of the ongoing support from caring people like you.
Sincerely,

Tia Pope, Manager, Puppy Mill Response
The Humane Society of the United States
