Linda Blair and Elayne Boosler to appear at Moreno Valley adoption event by Examiner.com

The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter in Southern California is holding a 4-day pet adoption fair beginning today. Special guests Linda Blairand Elayne Boosler will make appearances on Saturday, June 20, to raise awareness about shelter adoptions and the importance of spay and neuter.
“This pet promotion event gives us an opportunity to encourage people to provide a loving, caring home for companion animals that need someone to care for them,” says Steve Fries, Moreno Valley’s Animal Services Division Manager. “And it’s exciting to have high profile animal advocates like Linda Blair and Elayne Boosler join us Saturday to help promote shelter pet adoptions.”
Linda Blair, best known for her role as a child possessed in the Exorcist, is founder of Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to helping homeless, neglected and abused animals. She is also co-author of Going Vegan! She will be at the event on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Comedian Elayne Boosler founded Tails of Joy, a 501(c)3 created to help the smallest and neediest rescue organizations across the United States and beyond. The organization also helps with pet emergencies and supports spay/neuter legislation. She will attend on Saturday from noon until 3 p.m.
The event runs through June 20 at the shelter. Special promotions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Giveaways are sponsored by HomeAgain.
The cost to adopt a pet at the event will be $50 for dogs and $15 for cats. The cost includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and a HomeAgain microchip.
